The living room has two enormous couches to spread out on. The pub is right next door and does good meals. We were disappointed when we went back to eat on Friday night and found a wedding going on. However, the Hollywood Cafe came to the rescue with oven baked pizzas.

We had an evening meal in the Hollywood Inn Blessington. Close to Tallaght 15min by car which has transport to Dublin city, and a bus at the bottom of the drive if carless. Plenty of sightseeing with Glendalough and the Sally Gap a short drive and many gardens and walks nearby.
Irish country but so close to the city, the best of both worlds. We liked the breakfast menu and the food was lovely while looking out at a fabulous view. We could have done with another blanket or throw. I loved the peace and quiet and general ambience and look forward to going there again soon. What a lovely town with just the right mix of modern shops and Irish charm. Friendly helpful locals.
I enjoyed taking the 65 bus into Tallaght Square for the shops as well as Bus Eirann to see relatives further into Carlow. I enjoyed my stay with friends and relatives as well as two nights at Tulfarris Resort and Golf Course for a wonderful early birthday present to myself with Cathriona and Janet at The Beauty Rooms.
Local historian taxi man John Tipper was a great help as well. Much appreciated. Blessingtonban itself is not very interesting, however, it was a good starting point for us to see the wicklow gap, the Powerscourt waterfall amd the gardens.

Glendalough is also nearby. We went to Bray to the National Sea Life Center, which is more a place for kids, our toddler loved it. In Blessington, we had a delicious cook it yourself steak at the Murphy's bar. We wanted to check out the Stonebrook pet farm, however, it is open only at the weekends from may to august, otherwise, you need to book an appointment.
