I very recently was able to spend a couple of nights with a dear friend at The Grand Hotel in Malahide and we had a great time.

We both booked packages that included room, breakfast and an evening meal and it wasa great value. Whilst we checked into our rooms, the Front Staff was most helpful in directing friends who we had also invited for lunch in to the Matt Ryan Bar to wait, whilst we were settled into our rooms.

The Breakfast Buffet was in the Coast Dining Room overlooking the sea, gorgeous views, and numerous choices available. Dinner at Night was held in the Matt Ryan Bar, great menu choices as well with a fabulous dessert menu too. The bed was incredibly comfortable, as were the lovely bed and bath linens. I stayed in an Executive Room that came complete with a sea view that was breath-taking, and the sea breezes lulled me to sleep. I can highly recommend the Grand Hotel Malahide and look forward to many more getaways.

I am delighted you felt everything was so well done and look forward to welcoming you back for a nice pampering break at some stage. Also should your parents also want some pampering you can request a room near a lift so your mum doesn't have far to walk on her next visit. Eleanor wrote a review Oct Nice staycation! Malahide itself is gorgeous and the hotel's location could not have been better - you are right in the heart of the village and very close to the beach too. The staff were very nice but I can't help but feel we didn't get great value for money.

We paid for an executive suite but there were no robes or slippers in the room as advertised, which is a bit disappointing as that is the main selling point of the room on the hotel website. Additionally, we booked dinner for one of the evenings we were staying and ended up waiting outside the restaurant for 25 minutes before we were seated. We wouldn't have minded the delay if they had just asked us to come back in half an hour as the staff seemed run off their feet but being left outside the restaurant with a queue of other people too wasn't ideal.

The pool was lovely though and the hotel was very clean and comfortable - we had a lovely few days, I just don't think the hotel was worth what we paid for it ….

I booked an Executive Room for two with sea view expecting to be given a room as shown on the Grand Hotel's web site. The executive room shown on the web site has a a full wall of window with great sea views.

This however was not the type of room allocated to me. My sea view room had one small window. There was also a half grill in front of the window obscuring a full view. In terms of decoration however the room allocated was fine. Date of stay: August Value. Sleep Quality. Our executive rooms have just recently been refurbished to a very high standard and our executive sea view rooms have several different window styles including as you mentioned, almost a full wall of window, or 1, 2 or 3 windows in others. The terrace is a great plus :- The hosts are very pleasant people and make you feel at home.

Within metres of Talbot Botanic Gardens and 1. Self-catering unit. Extremely well equipped. Very lovely decorative touch. Excellent location and beautiful surroundings.
